Wolverine PE

Become an "Iron Wolverine" - Take the challenge.

For our students and their families we are issuing the following challenge:

"The Push Up Cup challenge" - Start with 5 pennies or something similar in a cup. Sit down as a family and dump out the cup onto the floor. Everyone does 5 push ups and 5 "crunches" or sit ups and then throw one penny in the cup. Repeat for each of the pennies for a total of 25 push ups and sit ups. Do this for 7 days. Then add another penny to the cup, now you will be working on 30 push ups and sit ups a day. At the end of 7 days add another penny. Continue this until the end of the challenge to receive an Iron Wolverine award.

We will begin this as a school on  Friday Jan 1. I will provide you with an online calendar of how many push ups and sit ups you should be doing each day. I would like e-mail confirmation each month that your family or student is still part of the challenge. We will do the challenge until  Friday June 4th. If your family is still involved I will provide you with a certificate and an option to purchase a specially designed Iron Wolverine T-shirt for whomever completes the challenge.

Kids in Motion -
Each Wednesday your kids have the opportunity to run/walk laps around the upper parking lot during their lunch recess. Have you seen the dots on the back of the hand? that is what they are for, to mark how many laps your kids are doing. they add them as a class and can work toward earning extra recess equipment for the class.
8 laps around our upper parking lot is considered a mile. Come join the fun on some Wednesday, don't forget to sign in at the office.
Below is a form that one family is using to log their laps and have them count toward the Seattle Kid's Marathon. If you wouls like a copy let me know and I can fwd to you
